I seek the remembrance of a life once lived

the overwhelming feeling of despair as one ages

without a desire to give others your feeling of loss,

which is better a prepared fool that believes in

someone who forgives the lies one participated in, 

the taking away of some ones property for profit

or the angry boy growing up to be an angry man

blaming others for his inability to be open with ideas

that could have guided his awareness of caring for

families living in squalor, making friends that seek

another's trust that became your freedom to be yourself

with open eyes knowing that a liberation is coming and

wealth must be brought to justice in the wars they create and the

brutal treatment of cultures that have a right to their own lives
